Mini-Projects Day 7: Cougaroo

MIni Projects Day 1: Slice Mini-Project
In Computer Art we are starting a 12-piece project of 12 photoshop projects, one each day for twelve days. The first project is a "slice" project, where we "cut" a slice out of an object using photoshop. I went with the cliche "kiwi inside a kiwi" thing:
It didn't really turn out very well, but I guess I have 11 more days to produce better projects.

Parts Project
This project required that I recreate an organic object with non-organic parts - I decided to cover an image of a turtle with junk parts, mainly trash bags and metal sheets, and use the burn and dodge tools to add dimension; here is the result:
I was worried about adding the girders at the bottom because the picture I ripped them from had a diffrent resolution and different focus from the background image, but I think using the blur tool helped to estabish a more natural foreground-to-background movement. Overall, I liked how this image turned out, although I feel like I could have done more work shading in some places, like around the eye.
